There were indeed multiple problems with non UTF-8 encodings in Mahogany when using GTK+ 2. I believe I've fixed all of them in the current cvs but the problem is that there were also problems in wxGTK itself so I can't easily make a new release, unfortunately. If you can build from the cvs sources of wxWidgets and M, please try to do it and test the new version, it should work correctly. Please let me know if there are still any problems, thanks!
