Yes, they contain non-free software also. But some of them can be configured 
properly (in the
sources.list) for not to install any non-free stuff. The best thing is to use 
the distributions
that the FSF recommends, which are entirely free. I use one of them. :-)

You think that sending emails is the only help that can be done. If you were an 
active member,
then you would know what is the real help that the active members of this group 
are
doing. Ofcouse, there are a lot of other technical groups/discussion forums, 
which will discuss
only technical things.
