Header rewriting notwithstanding, I don't understand the mail flow that could cause this.
[email protected] -> [email protected] accepted and forwarded to -> outlook/hotmail forwarded back to? -> [email protected], but gmail bounces message to [email protected] because our DMARC policy says reject if not sent from our mailserver. It's only a single gmail recipient and my sender has since connected by phone, so it's not an urgent issue but I'm curious how this happens in case it pops up again.
