I was just considering this possibility as I watched the CPU usage
2-3X greater in mailplane than on firefox4 running only gmail.  The
only difference that I knew of was that I was not running TrueNew on
firefox.
Yes, Mailplane does seem to use less CPU with TrueNew disabled.
Ironically, doing so and restarting Mailplane "caused" firefox to
suddenly start requiring 50-60% CPU!

I can't help but notice, thanks to google labs, that you work some
