Hum same problem here with my google apps account since this morning :( 
works perfect in Chrome but in Mailplane, it displays the yellow message at 
top stating lost connection and that it's going to retry but it doesn't 
reconnect :( I have three other accounts in Mailplane that works fine, I 
have issue only on main account :(
