Ah, I see. If I do like you have done and check or uncheck Boomerang and RI
while I have a new message open, it works just fine. I wasn't doing it that
way. I was setting my preferences from the inbox view, and that's when it
doesn't work properly.

After testing this again, for me, it only works when I create a new message
and then change settings. It does not work when I'm replying to a message
or when I'm setting it from the inbox view. In either of those two cases
right inbox disappears when I check off the boomerang, and I have to wait
till it returns on its own.
