I don't know if this still means this is a hardware issue or back to a 
software issue... but i'm experiencing this same issue on my:
MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Late 2013)
OSX 10.10.1

Intel Iris Pro 1536 MB

Mailplane Version 3.3.3


Luckily the issue is only annoying.  But then again... its annoying.
