Agreed. Why don't they start a Vinland Map list, where they can go on

Can someone please remove these Vinland Map mavens from the list. It
is boring in the extreme to have to delete, never mind read, their
babble.

map by recycling paper and parchment from the "Speculum Historiale"
as soot and gelatin, he (or she) found that a further ingredient was

be a pure inorganic chemical if the carbon-dating trick was to work
(but did not know how remarkable the process for producing pigment
anatase actually was).
However, the catch with that scenario is: where does the mystery
chemical permeating the parchment fit in?
