I delete hundreds of messages each day -- I accept it as a fact of life
(which it is) rather than whine about it.
As for the Vinland map, it is always good for combatants to know when a
thread has run its course. But, given that the Vinland map is on-topic
-- it is map history, after all -- the discussion belongs here.
Depending on your e-mail program, you should be able to easily set up a
filter to automatically delete any Vinland messages. Those discussing
the matter can make it easy for your filter to work by using good
subject lines with the word "Vinland" in it.
I very much prefer taking personal responsibility for MY inbox to
discouraging others from what is appropriate use of a GROUP resource
such as this.

Agreed. Why don't they start a Vinland Map list, where they can go on
forever.

Can someone please remove these Vinland Map mavens from the list. It
is boring in the extreme to have to delete, never mind read, their
babble.

Possibly because, having intended to create the ink for the forged
map by recycling paper and parchment from the "Speculum Historiale"
