Its not really about winning......I thought your initial remarks had some
validity...we do not have an international presence in the conference...that
being said the scholars we do have are very good and have written some
remarkable things about Galileo. I thought your words about the conference,
something we work very hard to put together, were uninformed in regards to
their work. That is simply all. If you had some legitmate concerns about their
scholarship I would have been quite happy to hear them...that being said we
should certainly end the discussion and for the record nowhere have I said that
you are stupid...your word not mine....

Thanks to those who have contacted me on the subject relating my mocking
approach of mr. Hessler comments. I agree that it is better to stop this
discussion as mr. Hessler, ad nauseam, takes his trusted defensive position yet
again in "apologizing" to the list for the STUPIDITY of his criticasters. Under
those circumstances continuing any argument with mr.
Hessler is senseless ... I was warned before ... I should have known better.
