Hi Bill,

Do you need some kind of automated page/feature indexing?
If so, then we'd love to know of some tool that does that!
But if not, then maybe this will help? :

We usually provide PDF maps, so we print the maps to an
Adobe Distiller printer (really just a print driver). Once
you've gotten this working fine (which I know has been
discussed in many other postings, is explained in the Adobe
Acrobat documentation, and was not really your question),
then all you have to do it set the page size to be 8.5x11
(or some other "grid size") and when you print large maps
(e.g. 6'x4'), they are automatically gridded into several
pages. I'd be happy to send you a sample output to make
sure this is what you are seeking. One caution - although
we don't know why, creating these "booklet" PDFs take about
10 times as long as if you set the page size to 6'x4' so it
can be painful if there are many features (like street
maps).

Subject: MI-L Map Book software?

Does anyone know if there's any tools out there that can
automatically divide a regional map up into a grid of
smaller
regions for printing map books (like the street map books)?
