I too encountered the same problem with
vertical mapper. I was advised to fiddle with the coincident point
distance, but no success. I use a p4 with 1.5 GB ram
and a 2.8 ghz processor. As far as i can tell, I still have
plenty of physical and virtual memory in reserve while vertical
mapper is processing so I'm not
sure why its coming up with that error. The only alternative
i can think of is to subset the data set and then splice the
grids together. If anyone has other ideas/solution
I would like to hear
it.
