Well David, you sure have made my christmas even better this year. Finally I'm able to get the erroor messages from the MapBasic compiler into my UltraEdit enviroment. Thank you ! I have improved your bat files as they didn't care about the MapBasic version, and this can be very important in cases where your users not all have the latest version. My bat file looks like this: @Echo off "C:\MapBasic\MapBasic 4.0\Mapbasic.Exe" -NOSPLASH -D ""%1.mb"" if exist ""%1.err"" type ""%1.err"" Do remember to alter the path to the MapBasic.exe if you have it placed somewhere else. Appearently the Start/wait doesn't work if you are using a full path ? Also do remember in the tool configuration to uncheck to "Windows Program" checkbox. Now I can see no reason why some people are stuck using the MapBasic Editor when the features of UltraEdit are that good. I know it's a bit early, but anyway, I'm pretty happy right now, so: Merry Christmas to all of you!
