This is discussed in detail in the Advanced Geocoding section of the manual
under ALTERNATE STREET NAMES, STREET NAME HAS CHANGED section.

Street files like Street Pro have the data split into one sub table that
contains one occurrence of each unique road name in the source file, and a
MI_REFNUM that is a unique ID number corresponding to the unique street
name. This is done to speed up geocoding, searching on an intiger instead of
a character string. The second table has the map objects, L/R From/To and
MI_REFNUM. If you have a new street name for an existing street or several
names for one street (such as Main St and Old US 25), open the file
containing the association of the unique street name and MI_REFNUM and note
the MI_REFNUM for the original street name, then add the new or alias street
name and the same MI_REFNUM as the old (original) name to the table (Control
E). With both names sharing the same reference number, it will add a
geocode symbol for either name to the same line segment.

Subject: MI-L Geocoding

Hi All,

I want to be able in mapinfo pro to find (geocode address) with old street
name as well as new street names. I am not sure If I can do that because the
file structure is <Street Name><FromLeft><ToLeft><FromRight><ToRight>.
That structure wont work of course. However, I found in MapInfo User Guide
some hints about using another table using all the alternative names.

So does anyone know how can I do that?
Thanks in advance,
Yours,
Sherif
