I don't think so. I have been running mrsiddecode.exe to convert a 186Mb MrSid file to GeoTiff and it has been running since 10pm (now 2pm next day) with about 50% CPU usage whatever I do. Mine's a big job (58% done, 3Gb output so far) on a 2.6MHz CPU/1Gb RAM system, but I'm told unravelling MrSid files is CPU-intensive and maybe the utility is less than efficient. What's the selection process? Often, it's the algorithm you're using that is highly inefficient and the hardware isn't at fault.

I'm currently working a large file with is taking over an hour to complete a selection process. When I check the Task manager the CPU is only working at 50%. Has anyone have any reg tweaks that improve MapInfo's access the processor and ram.
