I usually do it Mike's way too, but you could probably label with the expression
Field + " " + Field + " " + Field Then just play with the spaces to make it fit relatively well. You would probably need to wrap labels to the line after that to make it look halfway decent though. This would probably work for a few polylines, but I wouldn't want to do it to a lot.
