Not on a single polyline, not with the normal Mapinfo Label tool. BUT... You can with LABELER.MBX I think it is maybe a remnant from MI 3.x? Works good for cartogrpahic work but time consuming. It will place a text object in the cosmetic based on your labeling expression for a given layer. You then save the cosmetic objects to a real table if you wish to keep them.
I'm almost sure it can be found in the tool bin at Directions.
