Hi

On a similar topic, using the larger swatch size options on the thematic
legends doesn't seem to work (v8.0). Although the rectangle appears in a
larger size in both the legend window and the layout, it reverts to
small size when printed on paper or to pdf. Anyone else had similar
problems/solutions?

Subject: [MI-L] Printing Legends in Layout windows

Dear All

I have just noticed something in MI v 8.0 which I had never picked up on
before and wondered if anyone else can come up with a solution?

I have a layout showing a mapper containing a thematic map, and a
separate window embedded within the layout for the thematic map legend.
Some of the classes in the legend have quite long names and in resizing
the legend window I noticed that some of the text appears to be
artificially cut off (in this case at least half of one word on one line
and oddly half a character on another).

On double clicking the legend box there is an option called Fill Frame
With Contents, which when unchecked shrinks the displayed legend window
down to a bounding box which perfectly masks the missing sections of the
legend text. However when checked it opens up the window to its user
defined extents, but still truncates the text to the limits of the box.

So, my question ... can anyone suggest how I can get the missing text to
display (ie can I or how do I change the dimensions of the bounding box
within the legend layout window?

Regards

Greg Phillips
