On a similar topic, using the larger swatch size options on the thematic
legends doesn't seem to work (v8.0). Although the rectangle appears in a
larger size in both the legend window and the layout, it reverts to
small size when printed on paper or to pdf. Anyone else had similar

That was a bug in 8.0. Supposedly fixed in 8.5, but I have not tested that.
