If your goal is to view them in MapInfo, you just need to install the Mr SID handler files, which i believe are on the MapInfo install disk.
If you simply need to convert, there is software (free i think) available from either www.lizardtech.com or www.landsystems.com the software is called GeoExpressView I will convert a SID file to a TIF and create a TIF world file (reference file) as well. I have been sent a bunch of .SID format aerial photos. Anyone know how I can translate these into a more common format without losing there spatial reference? I am not familiar with this file type. Thanks in advance. ********************************************************************************** This email and any files transmitted with it are confidential, and may be subject to legal privilege, and are intended solely for the use of the individual or entity to whom they are addressed.
