Speaking as someone who has used several GIS systems, ArcView, MapInfo,
Atlas GIS, even Tactician, the simple truth is that all of the major
systems can do some things very well and do other things very poorly.
What MapInfo should do is to find people who have used various systems
and determine what each system's strengths and weaknesses are. This list
would then be incorporated with the currently unfulfilled MapInfo wish
list and would become the blueprint for the next major upgrade.
