Concerning exporting window in raster formats. Can anybody give me an
advise how
to force MI to save window in GIF format? I agree with Warren Vick, it
should be
possible. But I don't know still, how.
[Robert Crossley] There has been a lot of talk lately about exporting
maps/ layouts to images, scaling output etc. I use a product called
superprint (www.zeno.com). It allows you to simply define an image format
as your printer, and print to the image instead of the printer. Produces
excellent results. It also allows you to insert formatted documents onto
layouts as images. I imagine there are other products that do similar
stuff.
It also has printer drviers for many printers that allow you to scale the
output. The advantage here is that you can define a A0 or whatever as the
page size for your final print size (thus a single page on your layout) ,
and yet print to another size for your check plots etc. It is scaleable
both up and down. For the standard model it is fairly reasonably priced,
but for the large format printers like nojajets or HP's, the special
drivers are fairly expensive. However, it has paid for itself in time
saved while printing I'm sure.
