Dear Mick and others,
The piecemeal approach - using NTF Classic (or something similar), Polwiz
and some customisation - is the only method I know of to your solution.
We're carrying out an exercise in Hackney somewhat similar to your proposal
(creating building polygons from Landline using polywiz to help integration
of addresspoint, our own council stock gazetteer, Housing Association
properties, and other property information e.g energy and insulation
scores)) , but have had to spend >1000! Initial thoughts point to our
investment being worthwhile.
I recently heard from the OS research team that there are plans to consider
creating Landline features as polygon sets rather than the current line
representations used to show physical outlines. Do not know of any proposed
delivery dates though - and what increase in Landline data they would
charge.
