Dear Mick

Our program TopHat will automatically build Polygon features from Lines
and Polylines.

The OS data as you are aware contains only Points and Linear features.
Also there are overshoots and undershoots in the digitising.

Powys, Bath and Torfaen have all in the last year used TopHat to build
Polygons for every single building in their administration areas. The
process is 99% successful. We can do this process automatically using
the roof seed from LandLine.

Following the reception of MapInfos own translator our interest has been
reawakened and I have lots of plans for development with the Translator.

These include translation on fly (particularly useful for looking at
older NTF tiles) and integration of translation tools into our Map
Production Systems that now start with ProPrinter ( works alongside new
FREE ProViewer software ).

The MapNTF Classic you have is way out of date. There is an evaluation
copy of new 32 bit code on our Web Site. Translation time is down to
about a second per tiles. Our Web site is www.bydesignwales.demon.co

If North Yorks or any other user interested in a sample build from
TopHat please email us and we can arrange this.

I would be very interested in a more detailed description of your
requirements ( and any other users out there !)

Regards

Bob
