I made the switch from 4.7 to 6.0. My favorite thing is the new label display features: - Labels can now have outlines or shadows - There is a setting to prevent labels from curving so they are easier to read when zoomed out - Each layer can have a separate "display overlapping labels" setting instead of everything having the same setting - Shapes can have a semi-transparent fill - City layer has many more cities
Overall the new maps look really nice! However, I didn't realize until after I bought it that this is not the final release of the software. I've found some issues that they said would be fixed with the final version, but they have not set a date for that yet. You may want to wait until after the final release, but at the very least I'd recommend keeping a backup copy of your old version installed in case you come across any problems. They said you can upgrade to the final version for free once it is released. --- In [email protected], "turkeytrekker" <sjones0145@...> wrote: > > Hi all, > > Am contemplating the upgrade to 6.0 (from 5.0) and would really appreciate > feedback from those who've made the migration. > > Thumbs up, thumbs down or "meh"? > > What's your favorite new feature? > > Anything you've been "wow'ed" by... or at least marginally impressed with? > How about disappointed in? > > Thoughts appreciated! > ------------------------------------ Yahoo!
