I think 6.0 has many features that make it worthwhile to use. I paid for a full version so I could keep 5.0 on another laptop. It is much easier to click a layer on/off; works better w images (Earth)... and more. I use several shape files from other sources like gas well data for wells and pipelines from Tex Railroal Commission; N Tex Council of Gov; and many more.
One of the shortcomings is the actual real time tracking with a external gps device. I have not been able to find a serial GPS and am frustrated with lack of support in how to make one work. But that is not a shortcoming of 6.0. I think it is a fantasy feature of all from 4.6 to 6.0. Thumbs up, thumbs down or "meh"? What's your favorite new feature? Anything you've been "wow'ed" by... or at least marginally impressed with? How about disappointed in? Thoughts appreciated!
