I’m happy with 6.0 – will be happier when the new ACS and Census data are
ready.

I think you can use a USB connection with 6.0 for GPS. It’s been a while but I
bought a serial to USB adapter and it worked. I was using a Magellan GPS which
I cooked by plugging in the wrong power adapter.

I think 6.0 has many features that make it worthwhile to use. I paid for a full
version so I could keep 5.0 on another laptop. It is much easier to click a
layer on/off; works better w images (Earth)... and more. I use several shape
files from other sources like gas well data for wells and pipelines from Tex
Railroal Commission; N Tex Council of Gov; and many more.

One of the shortcomings is the actual real time tracking with a external gps
device. I have not been able to find a serial GPS and am frustrated with lack
of support in how to make one work. But that is not a shortcoming of 6.0. I
think it is a fantasy feature of all from 4.6 to 6.0.

Hi all,

Am contemplating the upgrade to 6.0 (from 5.0) and would really appreciate
feedback from those who've made the migration.

Thumbs up, thumbs down or "meh"?

What's your favorite new feature?

Anything you've been "wow'ed" by... or at least marginally impressed with? How
about disappointed in?

Thoughts appreciated!
