At some point I may add a 'install_nodoc' target at the top level. I don't think it makes sense to put much time into getting the literate programming stuff working on Windows, unless you really intend developing there, or for some reason it's very inconvenient to build the docs on Cygwin or Linux and copy them over. -- jeffrey

By the way, since you & Jean-Damien seem to be building from the
    git distribution,

As for me, on cygwin -- yes, but on windows I normally use the latest dev version (with force install if (very rarely I must say) needed).

I expect that you'll be pleased to learn that I've been reducing
the noise. I've silenced the various Tex and Cweb runs except (I
hope) for error messages. I'm cutting away slowly, because we do
want to know why things went wrong when they do, and too much
output in that case is better than too little.

This is surely a good thing. Splitting Tex docs into a separate make target and allowing something like 'releng_without_tex_docs' would be also nice to have.

Still, I think marpa can be build on windows with cweb <http://www.literateprogramming.com/cweb_download.html> and Miktex <http://miktex.org/> with additional effort to find all the fonts. Does it make sense? I'll put it to my todo list if it does.
