The lessons of the "past"--the Russian Counterrevolution and its devastating impact on the international communist movement--must be learned by anyone hoping to "actually make a useful contribution to real struggle." Otherwise the repetition of past errors, like the support of antidemocratic nationalists in the name of "anti-imperialism," will poison and vitiate those efforts.
