There is actually more to the story of the Pankhursts.  Sylvia's mother
(sorry, but her name escapes me) was a founder of the women's suffragist
movement in the UK.  Her story was featured in a television series on the
U.S. suffragist movement, which she influenced.  I watched it a month or so
ago, maybe on netflix or PBS.  Sylvia was also a left communist and a
critic/supporter of Lenin.  Eventually the left communist current faded and
she took up the cause of anti-fascism.  Regardless of whether we agree or
disagree with her politics, she showed courage and principle at a difficult
time.
