Howie Hawkins ignores that he and his supporters, tried to have less votes for Biden in the crucial swing states - that would help re-elect Donald Trump. That and his candidacy was ineffective in reaching Trump supporters to turn against capitalism.
Ideology over reality, was clearly the 2020 Hawkins for U. S. president campaign. Imagine if Hawkins and his supporters were successful and helped Trump have the most votes instead in Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin - does anyone seriously believe that Trump would not "be as nice" as his first term? That was the actual risk and not a serious consideration by those who did not care if Trump was re-elected. Hawkins mentions Ralph Nader in this article and does not also state that Ralph Nader urged people vote for Biden and not Hawkins, in the November 2020 presidential election. I urged those in swing states, to vote for the Wall Street servant and militarist Biden, to both remove Trump and cause a defeat for the religious right wing. I understood how weak and ineffective the U.S. Left sectarians are. There is a need for working people to have both a left electoral party to represent them, which the corporate owned democratic party is not and a working class led Left Movement. That there was not even a Teamsters for Howie group active in 2020, reflects the realities of the Green Party and their actual outreach and effect. ________________________________ From: [email protected] <[email protected]> Sent: Friday, January 1, 2021 4:57 AM . By Howie Hawkins. By giving unconditional support to Joe Biden, progressive Democrats almost got Trump re-elected. Trump came within as few as 21,462 votes in Arizona, Georgia, and Wisconsin of winning the Electoral College. If those votes had gone to Trump instead of Biden, the Electoral College vote would have been tied 269-269. The election would have then gone to the House of Representatives under the Constitution’s 12th Amendment for a one-state, one-vote decision where Republicans have the majority in 26 state delegations of the incoming House. https://www.counterpunch.org/2021/01/01/how-progressive-democrats-almost-re-elected-trump/<https://na01.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.counterpunch.org%2F2021%2F01%2F01%2Fhow-progressive-democrats-almost-re-elected-trump%2F&data=04%7C01%7C%7Cd78dc45b6d8142a2efd208d8ae54c5e8%7C84df9e7fe9f640afb435aaaaaaaaaaaa%7C1%7C0%7C637451026407664282%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0%3D%7C1000&sdata=Ox1aUPqGkIdsyL%2BOK7mr%2BsGisUVUAxtp5msxg7bxnJ0%3D&reserved=0> -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Groups.io Links: You receive all messages sent to this group.
