Michael Harrington has been lambasted here over the years, but unlike
Marv, Harrington had a pretty good handle on stagflation. See 'Decade
of Decision' (Simon & Schuster, 1980), for example. The DSA, under
Harrington and Ehrenreich's leadership, also republished some
noteworthy pamphlets on the issue. I wanted to pull a few memorable
quotes but alas, I couldn't locate my copies. I recall one title
'Three Pieces of the Economic Puzzle' or something like that. Will
keep trying to locate them.
