THey always say (in self-congratulatory fashion) "the states are
laboratories of democracy" --- in other words, States try out new ideas
(California pioneered the right to turn right on a red light in cities!)
and the rest of the country follows if it turns out to be a good one --
BUT Florida and Texas are laboratories of fascism -- just as the JIM CROW
South was (Hitler learned a lot from the Jim Crow laws of the SOuth) ---
the question is even if TRUMP loses, will the ruling class be content to
let there be "women's rights deserts" in various states just as the ruling
class accepted JIM CROW between 1898 and 1950-something (the first "Civil
Rights Act" was passed in 1957 though it had no teeth --).
So, yes TRUMP has to be defeated but there then has to be an effort to
force the Federal GOvernment to overrule the states that have established
abortion bans, curriculum white-washing, electoral intimidation, etc. ----
and if TRUMP wins, the fight will be the kind of fight that led to the
creation of the REPUBLICAN PARTY in the 1850s and a coalition in the NOrth
to confront "the slave power" ---- that will be much worse --- but even
then we cannot give up ....
FIRST ORDER OF BUSINESS -- beat Trump ("by any means necessary" -- which
unfortunately means coalition with the war criminals --- just as the labor
movement supporting the NEW DEAL was willing to accept coalition with
Southern racists ---)
