You were a skilled blue-collar worker then. Today, most of the top 10 - 20% of the wage earners who are not in management are full-college educated, white-collar workers in media, computer, public administration, NGO, etc. This stratum supported Mamdani the most. DSA draws disproportionately from them and is run by them. Of course they are part of the class.
