When I said that the blockade "continues to have an impact on Venezuela's oil
exports" I was not referring mainly to the volume of exports, but to their
destination and what happens to the money from oil sales.

As far as I am aware, since January 3 Venezuela has sent no oil to Cuba or
China. This is a very big "impact" on Venezuela's oil exports. And the
blockade was a big factor in causing this "impact". The Venezuelan government
knew that any tanker heading for China or Cuba would be likely to be seized by
the US navy.

The blockade was also a big factor in the subservient behaviour of the Delcy
Rodriguez government towards the US. The US navy has the ability to block all
ships carrying Venezuela's oil exports. If this happened, Venezuela would get
no oil revenue at all. Presumably Rodriguez hopes that if she cooperates with
the US, Venezuela will at least get some revenue.

We can criticise this decision, but our main criticism should be directed at US
imperialism.

Chris
