Of course, while the ruling class has uniformally profited from the system, it has historically been politically split in bourgeois democracies between, broadly speaking , liberals and conservatives based on different urban and rural mass constituencies. In the US, even today, the "blue state" Democratic mayors and governors, their congressional representives and judges, and their wealthy donors are, however timidly, emphatically "not happy" with Trump, Vance and the Republicans. In particular, they don't like Trump's authoritarian and corrupt behaviour and his erratic and destablizing tariffs, immigration, and other foreign and domestic policies. More generally, the differences between the two wings/parties of the ruling class in bourgeois democracies have turned on the extent of tax and social spending policies, and can become acute in times of crisis. Ironically, the Republicans, who usually enjoy more support among the rich and powerful, have further benefitted from the Democrats appearing to be the party of the elites within a large sector of the working class.
