Musk and Thiel (and others like Andreessen and Sacks) are ideologically on the far right but I do not regard them as representative of the US ruling class and the direction in which US capitalism is turning. Or even, for that matter, that they represent the majority of tech barons. The heads of the big 5 tech companies (Apple, Alphabet (Google), Meta (Facebook), Amazon, Microsoft) are opportunists rather than ideologues. Like all capitalists, they trim their sails to the political winds and curry favour with the party which is in power or seems most likely to attain it. Most fundamentally, there is no evidence their interests or of the US ruling class in general are dictating a turn to fascism or effective one party rule. That would require a real perceived threat from below to their property which is nowhere present.
