Tesla is aiming for 2027 to start mass-marketing autonomous electric semis - tractor-trailer trucks, they have already started building mega-charging-stations in California for the trucks. Plans not mentioned in this article include the idea of running 3-4 autonomous trucks in tandem so that fuel costs (including charging) are much lower for the 2-3 trailing vehicles which follow with much reduced air resistance in the slipstream of the front truck.
