For Musk, hype about a breakthrough just around the corner is the key product. 
The "plans" that he's confidently announced that have come to nought, or are 
forever receding into the future, are innumerable. Tesla hasn't even managed a 
substantial rollout of autonomous taxicabs in a single city. A launch of 
autonomous tractor-trailers next year is about as likely as a Mars colony.
