Here are my observations so far:
I updated the firmware. The ECD registered itself with a freshly installed Matterhorn 1.2. and at least set the state of a scheduled recording to 'capturing' at the appropriate time

14:09:59 INFO (CaptureAgentStateServiceImpl:445) - Recording status changed to 'capturing', resuming workflow '77'

Agent state remained 'idle'. Also the recording state remained 'capturing' after the scheduled end time, nothing has been ingested.

Regards,
Benjamin

PS: ECD MH config: Calendar Polling=5 State Push=60 Max.Duration=8 Ingest Interval=15

I did play later on with these parameters, changing the
Agent State Push Interval down to 10sec or even to 1 sec,
also setting the Ingest Interval to 5min and 10min.
But, this does not have any positive effect :(

Which is a pity, because the output from the device looks much better after the
f/w upgrade.

Greg,

I have upgraded the firmware today morning and here are may observations:

1. the upgrade was done without any single problem
2. the ECD is working fine with the new f/w,
in particular on the video output the black frame is now symmetric
and the picture quality I think is a bit better.
Yeah, the uptick in quality is really impressive! The framerates are
also much better.

3. the ECD has registered fine after the core re-boot as 'epiphan_agent'
I would hope it resets all of the settings to factory defaults, so this
makes sense. I would go so far as to say that any firmware upgrade like
this *requires* a factory reset on your part, just in case. This will
also take care of your blank settings comment below.

4. BUT, I did try twice the schedule recordings and the agent stays in
the idle state
with the same warning as on the previous f/w

"WARNING : Recording may have failed to start or ingest!
It seems the core system did not recieve proper status updates from the
Capture Agent that should have conducted this recording."
I've confirmed this locally as well. The recording integration is
completely broken at this point: the program that the scripts used to
call is no longer there, so obviously things don't work :)

I've sent off an email to Epiphan, hopefully we can get this fixed soon!

So possible, something need to be modified on the ECD and also on the core?
There are two parameters on the ECD, Matterhorn tab: Agents state push
interval (set to 60s by default), and the Ingest interval (set to blank
by default).
But, I did not have time to test this yet?

Do you have any suggestion what need to be modified?

Thanks,
Leslaw

Hi Greg,

That's excellent!

Can you send us the link for downloading the f/w ?
I might try to test it too.
    The normal address should work:
    www.epiphan.com/downloads/firmware/Davinci_Matterhorn/beta.php
    <http://www.epiphan.com/downloads/firmware/Davinci_Matterhorn/beta.php>

Thanks,

Hi folks,

Epiphan has just released version 2.2.1 of the firmware for the ECD.
There are numerous changes to the encoding pipeline which should
    boost
encoding efficiency, as well as fixing some capture state
    reporting issues.
Please keep in mind that this is a fairly large change, and
    incorporates
numerous changes from Epiphan that I have not had a chance to
    look at!
There is no reason it should not work, but these changes may have
    broken
parts of the integration with Matterhorn so do not be surprised if
things do not work at first. I am going to be testing the new
    firmware
this afternoon so we should know more soon. If you are willing
    to help
test then please feel free to upgrade, if not give me a few days
    to make
sure everything is working 100% and I will let you know on list.

Thanks,
G
