I would only comment that this is only an issue for testing and QA.
There's no University across different time-zones. I guess we have more
important problems in the UI than this. Yes it's a PITA in the QA Season
but that's not that important I think.

Hi, Greg.
Multiple time zone administration was previously considered an edge case (thus
these issues were not prioritized, and sometimes not even documented), but I
am happy to re-focus on these issues if they're causing problems in production.
It's timely in that we're doing somewhat of an overhaul of the Scheduling UI to
deal with multiple distribution channels. Just confirm that it's a real issue
(and not just a theoretical one).
I do want to say that while I'm not opposed off hand to re-ordering the items
it the Capture area of the Scheduling UI, there are actually a number of
usability problems when dealing with multiple time zones (not just the location
of the agent dropdown). Just moving the selector might be a bit of a band-aid
and might have other usability implications that haven't been thought through.

Betreff: [Opencast Matterhorn] Admin UI Suggestion
Hi Folks,
I'm doing some integration testing with the Epiphan CA, and I've noticed a
little
oddity in the admin UI: When the device is in a different timezone the start
time's
hour component will change when you select the device. Since the device
selection dropdown is at the bottom of the page my workflow typically looks like
Insert metadata -> select time and date -> set duration -> select agent
-> fix start time -> schedule.
Instead we should move the device selection dropdown to the middle of the page,
above the date selector. This would change the obvious workflow to
Insert metadata -> select agent -> select time and date -> set duration
-> schedule.
I'm not a UX person, but the latter seems far more intuitive and less error
prone (it
took me a couple of tries to understand what was going
on) than the original.
