That's right. With Matterhorn's current functionality, unless you don't need to trim the recordings, the ability to add captions in the hold state is minimally helpful, as it requires the caption file (assuming one was created based on the untrimmed media) to be edited to match the revised start time. (For the captions hold state to be useful, we'd have the ability to trim both at the same time, and/or to send off the trimmed media to get captioned--not going to happen for 1.3.) Has anybody heard that any adopters were using the captions hold state when it *was* functioning (1.1)? Or that anybody needs this? Maybe I'll post to the users list...
Here at UCB, the post-distribution captioning functionality is the most important.
