FWIW, I have been running some "silent pilot" captures of camera/screen 
captures and a lot of them (usually 1 hour or 1.5 hours) do end up with 
captures that are within one second of each other (they range from being off by 
.1 - .5 seconds). The class that has the most trouble is a 2h 15m capture that 
often has a user on Skype on the screen capture. So, I am wondering if the 
additional movement on Skype is making this issue more pronounced; though the 
odd thing is that the last capture (which may not have been "Skyped" on the 
screen capture), the length was actually short on the video capture side.

In any case, I am wondering:

a) what is the default bitrate for these captures?
b) are they (or can they be set to) constant bitrates? [and would this actually 
help performance?]
