OF didn't become capable of booting *nix without the MacOS bootstrap until the advent 
of the "colored" Macs, IIRC.  Your Wallstreet will still need a minimal MacOS 
partition to boot.  System 7 will load into as little as 5-10 MB.  I think 7.5 is 
probably the earliest OS the Wallstreet will run.  You may be able to get a minimal OS 
8 into 25 MB, but I would reserve 50 MB.  A 4GB drive should be fine.  I've got a *nix 
on a 1.2GB drive, and many people have used smaller ones.

If you're already familiar with NetBSD, I'd say go with that.  (Many BSD people used 
to use Linux and say they'd never go back.  YMMV.)  If you're looking to expand your 
experience, try YDL.
