Hi...

I'm pretty frustrated at this point. At long last I finally get the chance to install
Jaguar on my beige G3/300. I backup my HD, put in my new 40GB drive, and boot from
the system CD to partition the drive because of the 8GB limitation. (The drive setup
tool on the Jaguar disk was worthless.) Then I boot the Jaguar CD. Half hour later,
it finishes installing the first disk and reboots.

It never comes back up. I get a white screen that says "can't OPEN: can't OPEN: can't
OPEN:" about two dozen times, then the display flickers to the gray "happy Mac" screen
with mouse pointer for a few seconds, then restarts. It will keep doing this until I
power down. I tried googling for "can't OPEN" in relation to OS X, but the only pages
I find are in Japanese. :P

Apple tech support had me remove stuff one piece at a time (3rd party video card, 3rd
party RAM, all external devices, etc) but nothing helps. All I have left to try are
the Apple A/V card and DVD that shipped from the factory with it when I bought it.
The only other suggestion Apple has is "upgrade to a newer computer". Well that won't
be an option for at least a year if not more. I need to get this to work.

Help?!?! Please????

Tim
