About Automatic extension ...

Hi,
    Recently I had asked the question about the automatic increase of the database 
size in 7.4.0.27 in case the db gets nearly full. The answer that I found was running 
the dbmcli with the config_set option to set the autoext flag to true. Does anyone 
know how much can the database extend automatically ? I mean does it extend till the 
entire disk fills up or there is a limit before that ?
