I'm not sure I understand what you're talking about. Has MaxDB it's own
time which is not consistent with the system time?
I'm running ntpd on all MaxDB Servers since ever and never had any issues.
The only problem I could think of is the situation when ntpd is started,
which is usually done via init script which first calls ntpdate to correct
the time by force. If MaxDB is running in this situation there may be
problem. But this should never happen after booting the system.
