Anyway, I posted this to the MBS list because perhaps the ability to 
run a program with elevated permissions could be something the MBS 
plugin could do or already does.

I sort of doubt it, because from what I see it needs a helper app 
(separate form the running app) to run from a separate process for 
security reasons. The example is called SMJobBless and I am 
considering researching it, compiling it, and see how well it works 
for RS apps.

But if the MBS can or does do it....

I remember I needed a elevated permission when I needed to have 
access to a drive as root to write to it low leval, to reformat a 
drive to a strange format. This was necessary with fixed hard drives. 
I used a shell thing with a sudo command, so you essentially just did 
it in the shell, but the thing I wrote didn't really work 
consistently, it may have been my fault or something that I didn't 
understand at the core level.

But, as was discussed, I have less of a need for it; if APple is 
going to hide and make it difficult to get at the System Library, 
then there's lots of reasons to just "go to someones else's house for 
free food".
