Class Time: *Tuesday, 5-7pm*
Location: *103 Moffitt*

BMJ is a student-run medical journal at UC Berkeley that explores current
biomedical, political, and ethical facets of the medical field. This
two-unit (P/NP) course is designed to supplement the education of
journalism and pre-health students and therefore has two important goals:
1.Successful publication of exemplary articles geared toward the student
body and academic community
2.Guide students as they become successful science journalists and
written communicators
The class will cover different aspects of writing your article, and
students will work with editors to write two articles that will be
considered for publication at the end of the semester.

Summer 2016 UCSF Pre-Health Undergraduate Program (PUP)

The University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) Clinical and
Translational Science Institute (CTSI) Training Program offers a summer
clinical research training program for 15-18 currently-enrolled
undergraduate students who are planning to attend dental, medical, nursing,
pharmacy or physical therapy professional schools after graduation, and who
have an interest in a career in clinical research. Students will be paired
with a UCSF professional student who is enrolled in the course. The purpose
of the course is to train students to evaluate the medical literature, to
design clinical and translational research studies, and to encourage
long-term collaborations between UCSF and students. Tuition and book are
included if accepted into the program and a $1500 stipend is offered.
