But Bill Gates is our true Saviour, He is The Path to computer Salvation.
Repent
and replace Linux or BeOS with Windoze! Throw your Acorns or Macs out the
window and replace with a proper computer! And always remember I sometimes
talk an absolute load of b***ocks ;-P (especially when every sentence ends
with
an exclamation mark!)
Isn't Win98 the ultimate home computer OS? I haven't tried 98v2 but I just
downloaded another sackful of updates for Windoze98 and IExploder5 which
proves how up to date and bugfree MS software is :-P And Media Player 6.4
(beta) which I'm sure will run perfectly. Sort of. Sometimes. Heheheh!
And
then I wonder why my machine crashes unpredictably? Roll on Windoze Zero
(apparently codenamed "Millenium"), if your computer was Y2K compliant, I
bet buying (yes, *buying*) the beta will make it compliant with nothing :-P
Guys, can I just say I use MS products since there aren't many other options
now. I need DOS compatability, I need Win95 and preferably Win98 compat.,
if I went down to the local games store and asked if "[insert any game title
here]" is available in a Linux or BeOS version, the assistants would ask "a
what" usually, or if they had actually heard of Linux or BeOS would probably
stare at me for a second or two as if I had grown another head or was from
another planet before asking me "are you on dru..", well perhaps not quite
that but I doubt even one box on the shelves would work.
Bill Gates has pummelled me into submission :-( I truly wished IBM OS/2
Warp 3 could have overthrown Windoze but it's too late now and we have no
choice but buy (or pirate --ahem--) "God's" software.

Unless the portie has a keypad on top, I think End-Search is the best
facility
on a portable. No doubt Sharp, Aiwa et all will see the light and add this
valuable facilty on their next units. Hey, why don't we start an on-line
petition
for Sharp and Aiwa and everyone else but Sony to introduce the increased
functionality of End Search. You know you want it, you Sharp users must be
jealous of the increased flexibility of Sonys :-)

And much less compatible than mine also. Perhaps on monday I'll go to the
games shop and ask how many Acorn games they have. I'll start the stopwatch
when they begin laughing and stop it when they have recovered from their
hysterical laughter. [Actually I think one shop does have some Acorn games,
though I haven't asked how many they sell in an average year].
What's pretentious about a PC? It's the computer of the future (an AMD
Athlon
chip will take it to Warp 9.8) and is a triumph of quick fixes over good
design.
Urrrgh... why do I feel the need to be honest and not tell more lies
instead?
Cheers,
